A cross section of Medical Laboratory Scientists in the Nigeria are calling on the National Assembly to enact laws that will curb quakery in medical laboratory practice in the country, stressing that more than 85% of fake and wrong test results are from non-licensed laboratory practitioners.
The Medical Laboratory Scientists were reacting to a statement by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Idris Wase that a bill to check inefficient, careless and deadly practices in our hospitals from Medical lab. Professionals is in the offing.
According to the scientists: “Unless we rule out Quackery, we will never have Quality Results released out of our Labs. Quality has been compromised, and it has been happening for so many decades now.”
