B arring any last minute changes, speculations are rift that the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) may begin the enforcement of the 200% penalty on late payment of Annual Practice Fees on practitioners with effect from next week.
You may recall that the Governing board of the MLSCN temporarily suspended the late payment penalty on the 26th of March as part its efforts to join in the fight to curtail the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
According to a circular duly signed by the Registrar/CEO of MLSCN, Dr. Tosan Erhabor, the suspension was to last for 6 weeks with effect from 1st of April 2020 in the first instance ,which elapses this week.
However, Council has not released any circular of continuation of the suspension or not but we advise Medical Laboratory Professionals yet to pay their Practice Fees for the year to do so now to avoid stories that touch.
