A winner has emerged for the ISN Medical Laboratory Scientist of the Year Award (iMLSOTY), second edition.
He is Friday Odum, a Medical Laboratory Scientist who works with one of the ISO 15189 accredited laboratories in the Country, Clina-Lancet Laboratory.
Odum, a graduate of the University of Calabar emerged ISN Medical Laboratory Scientist of the year 2021 beating nine other top Finalists to walk away with the Coveted Prize.
He will be rewarded with a cash prize of one Million naira (₦1,000,000), a Capacity Development Training, and a donation of Medical Lab Equipment/Reagents worth One Million Naira to where he works.
In the same vein, Ndukwe Kelechi of Everight Diagnostics and Laboratory Service Limited, Abuja, and Gabriel Oke of National Hospital, Abuja emerged 1st and 2nd runner-ups respectively.
The event which was streamed live to Youtube and Facebook was held at the prestigious Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event was well attended by several important dignitaries, relevant stakeholders, government functionaries, and critical medical professionals from the health sector including officials of the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria, the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria as well as Young Medical Laboratory Scientists’ Forum.
The event featured the launch of a book entitled ‘first among equals, a book authored by the ISN Medical Laboratory Scientist of the Year 2020 winner Abiola Fashina.
The ISN Medical Laboratory Scientist of the year is an initiative put together by ISN Products Nigeria Limited to reward excellence in the practice of medical laboratory science in Nigeria
