The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) has launched an online portal for practitioners registration and annual licensure renewal beginning from January 1, 2022.
According to information on the MLSCN website, the recently launched practitioner portal hosted at http://portal.mlscn.gov.ng has been designed to ease the burden practitioners face in the payment for, and issuance of their practicing license as the portal is laced with a number of features to technologically place the Medical Laboratory Science profession in greater light within & outside Nigeria.

Some features of the MLSCN portal include
- Practitioners who have licences for the previous year will be able to self-register on the portal
- Licences will bear passport photographs of practitioners
- A compendium of security features are scattered all over the license to checkmate forgery and counterfeiting.
- MLSCN e-bulletin is accessible on the portal
