Meet the Newly Elected AMLSN Bayelsa Executives

Medical Laboratory Scientists in Bayelsa State under the auspices of the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN) Bayelsa State Branch have elected new Executives to pilot and midwife its affairs for the next three years.

 

The election was held on the final day of the Association’s Medical Laboratory Scientists Week at Ebiis Hotel, Etegwe, Yenagoa, under the watchful eyes of Dr. Otareh O. Otareh and Dr. Henry Ukwuamedia, both of whom are national representatives sent to oversee the electoral process.

 

 

Announcing the winners at the end of the polls, the Electoral Umpire Chairman MLS. Osakwe Ebiye praised members of the Association for conducting themselves in a peaceful manner throughout the process.

Below are the newly elected:

 

  • Chairman: MLS. Eunice Lelei
  • Vice Chairman: MLS. Ebidimie Ishmael
  • Secretary: MLS. Alabrah Tonbara
  • Assistant Secretary: MLS. Tommy Edidiong
  • Financial Secretary: MLS. Egberibin Enewekumo
  • Treasurer: MLS. Mark Bughumeni
  • Welfare Officer: MLS. Igbaro Grace
  • Publicity Secretary: MLS. Lokoja Ebiweni
  • Auditor: MLS. Destiny Tere

 

All positions were contested unopposed except for the Chairmanship position that was keenly contested.

Speaking at the end of the polls, Dr. Otareh O. Otareh, the AMLSN National Vice President 2 (South South) hailed the Electoral Committee for the transparency, fairness and credible in the conduct of the polls as well as hailed members for conducting themselves peacefully.

 

While congratulating all the winners, Dr. Otareh, who had served as Chairman of the Association in Cross Rivers State Branch advised the newly elected Chairman to be magnanimous in victory by extending a hand of fellowship to her co-contestant .

 

The newly elected Chairman MLS. Eunice Lelei, who is a former Chairman of the Association at the Federal Medical Centre Yenagoa Chapter promised to create visibility for the profession as well as make it a force to be reckoned with by the high and mighty in the State.

 

She promised to run an all-inclusive adminstration where all members of the Association will be involved in the decision-making process.
